I have a 98 buick regal gs 3600 super charged. I was in town this evening running some errands, went over a small hill where the charger kicked in for a second, car then stalled after about 20 secons, got it going enough to pull into a lot. Now car starts everyshot but stalls after 3 or 4 seconds. If i hold the gas on atill the rpms hit bout 3000 i can keep it going an additional 5 or 8 seconds but still same stall afterwards. If i dont touch the gas , as said before, 4 to 4 seconds then stalls. If i just turn it to run posistion while under the hood i can here the gas coming into the rails, but also a loud clicking in the relay box, there was a swith which i assumed was a reset in there so i pushed it down, no difference. I was also thinking maybe there was a fuel shut off safety in trunk like other cars that you could reset if tripped by a hard bump. Any ideas muchly appreciated.:banghead:

Based on the stalling after several seconds bypass the fuel pump speed control relay #18 which will determine if you have a bad fuel pump resistor. See link below.
Click here (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=658282)
Note: The bypass procedure is for a L67 Pontiac Grand Prix but make sure you do relay #18 (for Regal GS only) in the main engine compartment fuse box.

I know this is for a GTP, but would my regal 3600 gs Super charged be the same layout as this or may there be a diff # relay i will be looking for? TYVM for your fast reply, i did see this ealier but was not sure if the engines were the same, although i was going to try it in the morn, aside from that, forums are also saying check CS whick i cant see cuz it IS starting not just winding over, and cam sensor, and also PCV. I'll laso check PCV in the meantime ( as its any easy check) and fuses, if any, on pass side dash for fuel pump, but i can here fuel pump running, so im thinking no to the last one, fingers crossed, tnks again.

To start your engine is the L67 Series II 3800 not a 3600 which is the same engine the GTP uses. I pointed out the difference. The layout is the same. On the Regal GS look for Relay #18.
Do the easy stuff first. Less than a 5 minute job to bend the relay tab/contact over and test the engine.

Ok, I have looked at the 2 relays # 18 f-pmp spd cntrl
# 19 f-pmp
What i went and did was try it on 19 the regular relay not the spd cntrl relay which you say is 18 on the regals. Only thing is, if i bend the tab on 18 then that bent tab will prevent me from putting # 19 relay back in as tab will be in the way of it, unless i just leave out 19 OR bend tab out and up along the side of #18 as they are side by side in mine and 19 would be the closer one to me facing the car from the side looking from pass to driver. Hope you understand this and tnks again for the help. I also tried dissconecting mass air flow and all other things for that matter, all one at a time and retrying to start it but no changes at so far, now have car in yard tnks to a tow :). Now i can actually try some things, for now i will keep googling this issue, I want to try the tab on 18 which is named relay f-pmp spd cntrl , or near that. but i will wait for a response, tnks again.

YES!!! I couldn't wait to try sorry..lol, but i went and pulled # 19 and #18, bent tab on 18 and tried alone, no go, said fook it, bent right up the side, put 19 back then 18, tried, running No Probs for 10 mins so far :grinno: tyvm for the help with this, and only 2 hrs after the tow, ah well they only charged me 35 bux. Tnks again, i'll let her go for a day or so and see what happens, I know i need to fix permanently, so WHAT exactly is bad #19 relay? #18? or the porcilean one i have heard about? Plz let me know what i need to do to fully repair and take off the bandaid, happy as a pig in sh*t for now :D tnks again, very much appreciated.

As long as it is relay #18 you got the right one. What is bad is the fuel pump resistor. Pull the passenger side headlight and you will see it at the inner fender. Also, the link I gave you has a parts source and what the part looks like. And you're welcome.
You can run it with the bypass until you get the part but be sure to replace the resistor or the fuel pump will run in hi-speed mode only.
See link below. Since you are in Canada for the part GM dealer only.

Thank you again, I did try finding that earlier today, pulled out the head light but didn't see the porcelin white resistor, I will have another look tomorrow. Since after getting my car going I was bored and decided to edit the pic for gtp to a buick pic, I will put in my post here and if you would like to add it to your other post with the GTP , just take it and to whatever you want with it then I will remove this post snd image., sorry if did something I shouldn't have ahead of time.

No problem and thanks. I'll post a similar procedure with your updated pic just for the '97 - '00 Regal GS at Buick Tips & Maintenance when I get the time.
