94 Transport water pump replace?

Hello. I have a 94 pontiac transport with a 3800 engine. Within the last year or so I have been listening to the squeak of the original water pump as it slowly dies out. What should I do to replace it? While I have the old one off, should I check for anything else?

Do not dismiss the possibility that the squeak could come from the belt tensioner, a common event....and also from the free wheeling bearing of the a/c compressor pulley...remove belt and try all components one by one...
