Hi...

I own an 06 Holden Barina Sedan (Chev Aveo).. same thing.

We are having trouble changing the spark plugs, as they are in a little black housing... we finally got the tiny bolt off... but the case still isn't moving.

Does anybody know what we could do or would have a guide?

Thanks heaps.

Welcome to Automotive Forums!

The little black housing is a cover to reduce engine noise in the valve train. It has to come off to get to the plugs. There are 4 Allen bolts which have to come off. Once they are off you can lift off the cover. The spark plugs are between the cams in the middle of the engine. The wires pull directly up and then you can take the plugs out with a 3/8 inch ratchet with a 5 or 6 inch extension and a 5/8 inch deep well socket with a rubber insert to hold the plug. It sounds like you only got one of the four bolts out. Once you get the cover off you won't have any problems.

Thanks alot for the reply, this has cleared up a few things.

Do you know where the other bolts are?

The bolts (which accept an allen key) are in the four corners of the cover. This is the way my 05 is. Maybe it was changed on the 07 model. I don't know. It seems fairly clear that maybe your model is different from mine. There are 4 little black screws in the top of the silencer.
