2000 Grand Prix Se Shock Issue?

My vehicle lowered and my shock? caused rear right tire to go flat. I wondered how much it would cost to fix and what parts are needed. I have a licensed mechanic to do the labor, and purchase the parts near wholesale. I just wasn't sure if its even worth getting fixed. Anyone with any knowledge on pricing would be greatly appreciated'

Please try to keep image pixel size to no more than 800X600 resolution. Your pic is too big.

Your rear strut coil spring is broken due to excessive corrosion and rust. You can get just a spring new or used or just get a complete strut/spring assembly that has the strut, spring, upper strut mount and cushions. Also, try Ed Morad for used Grand Prix parts. Cost varies.

Thanks really appreciate the information. I tried sizing it at 600*800 but the the pic auto reformatted to the current size.

Its not a hard nor expensive fix really. I also would recommend to do both sides at the same time as if one side is broken, the other side will follow.

If I can move the strut to where it wont rub against the tire can I safely drive the car to the repair shop?

No, your spring could poke a hole in the sidewall of your tire and send you into a ditch. I would advise aginst driving it like this. Why dont you do the work yourself?
