Hey, it'd be cool to do a run down the oregon coast (101), camp out in florence or something and party there, swap info, have a few beers, BBQ, then head back up in a couple days.. Summa summa summaaaa time. Anybody down for a tour?

I don't own a honda, but if youdon't mind a mazda:) then it sounds like fun trip...keep the info going, I might be interested:D

Honda or no honda.. Doesn't matter.. Just anybody with a love of a 400 mile long curvy ass road, and great sights to see along the way. I did it last year with a few people and it was such a great time. Plus, by numbers it's safer. If someone breaks along the way, there's bound to be someone that knows how to fix it.

This might be a long time away, but I think it's a good idea. Might have to establish a meeting place, and camping reservations, but it could be fun..

You don't have to have a permit to do this type of thing do you?

as for the camping you might need those permits or some kind of paperwork to the site, but nothing really major.

I went down there last summer, and the camping was first come first serve, but you could only have 2 cars per campsite. This was only for two different campsites, but I imagine most are the same. I bet we could get a good deal too, having many many people come through there. As I remember, it's not that expensive either.

That sounds cool. If we all planned it right and stuff, I'd be down for it.

Damn, I forgot about this shit. I got a job and have been workin my ass off to afford parts for my car.

If someone else wants to spearhead this trip, I'd be down to go, but I'm just too busy to plan everything...

I'd be down, but I can't plan it =( Too busy with school (GO DUCKS) and work (AT&T sucks my balls).

Actually, if anyone is interested, let's start planning this out. I'm thinking instead of just the Oregon coast, how about from Washington down into California? Or atleast from Washington down into Southern Oregon. We could do the Coast for the curves and hit the Willamette Valley for long straight stretches. As far as camping, I don't know anything about that. If it's just a few people (under 10) I could probably plan it out, but for larger numbers than that, I don't think I'd have time.

Does Summer 2k4 sound good? Maybe even Spring 2k4? I'm taking Summer term off from school so no problem there but Spring might be a tight squeeze.

should we wait for the weather to clear up?

Yes, I definatly think we should wait till the weather clears up. I persoanlly think Summer 2K4 is better than Spring 2K4, but that's me. Spring would be a quick plan, and summer always has nice weather on the coast.

Now that several of us agree on summer 2K4, which of us wants to start planning it, and how do we want to plan this?

Isn't there some kind of holiday during the summer that everyone is supposed to have off work? Labor day, whenever that is..

Uhgg..not tillamook or florence...I used to date a girl who moved to tillamook while we where dating, and I also dated a girl from florence several years ago...not to fond of going to those places particalerly, lol.

To answer JDMsweetz question, I am from the Portland area.

To kicker1_solo, september is 3/4 of a year, 9 months away, not a year, lol. Anyways, I like Portland too. Of course, I am bais, I live here, lol.

Was she a yetti? There's not much out in tillamook, except for roads and a big ass ice cream/cheese factory. Her name wasn't Fallon by chance was it?

You have any other suggestions, since you are the native?

I live about 20 miles south of seattle for part of the year, and about 130 miles east of seattle for the rest.

I used to camp down in tillamook every year, and loved it there. I remember liking many of the roads around that area as well.

Oh, that area of the coast is quite nice....it's not that...it's the "ex" factor, lol.

Yea, we were talking about planning it for this summer. As you said though, summer is kind of far off. That's probably why we didn't get much further on this. So, anyone else down for trying to plan this thing again for this summer?

Solee, here at AF, posted something similar on NWhonda. Might raise a few brows to the idea. I'm still down to go. Doesn't PIR have some drag days during the summer?

I'm currently from the Medford/KFalls area. I'm familiar with Itrendz..I hung out with a few of them awhile back..Robbie s10, Brandon 2.5, and met a few others. Anyhow, I don't associate with that group anymore. How often do you come down?
