Ok. I'm new to this forum but experienced with cars/trucks and computer controls. I am undertaking a project (try not to critisize) of installing a 3.8l Vin 1 (supercharged) motor with associated transmission into a 1988 Pontiac Fiero. The 3.8 and transmission are from a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix. I have done many Fiero conversions over the years, 350 Chevy blocks, 3.4l, etc. But this install will be a real challenge. Love challenges. Anyway, I am trying to find a source for the powertrain and body control computer modules that were in the 2003 Grand Prix. I know that I can scan for DTCs and set points, but (also being a computer programming specialist) I want to get a copy of the computer's program so that I can understand and/or change the parameters that will most affect the perfomance in the Fiero. I have searched the internet and can only find the standard scanner stuff. Can anybody help?

We had a quy not long ago put a L67 into a 1994 Grand Prix. I think he ended up sucessfull with the swap, but he was having problems with the PCM/BCM and the Vats Transponder Key system.... Besides the point.
I'm not exactly sure what your asking. You want the program code from the PCM and BCM so you can dissect it? Or are you actually looking for the physical BCM/PCM?
If your looking for the physical parts, you can send ed morad an email. He has an ebay store and has pretty much every part a guy could need. Plus his prices are very reasonable.

Yeah, I know that it sounds like I have been sniffing too much racing fuel, but I like to know what goes on inside of stuff so that I can change things to my way. Since I'm trying to stuff a 3.8l into a Fiero, its like trying to match 1988 technology with 2003 technology. I don't expect the mechanical swap to be a problem, but the electronics will be tuff. I work in an industry that programs computers to run machinery so if I understood the code inside the PCM/BCM I might be able to adapt the systems better. I know that I can buy the PCMs and hardware, but I am not sure if all the 1988 sensors will adapt well.
Let me know if you have any ideas. Guess I'll just go back to sniffing the racing fuel for awhile.
