can someone please help. i need to get my car running.
heres whats going on. and the problem.

the key ignition cylinder broke. the key would not turn.so to get the cylinder out u turn key and push button. but it would not turn, so i drilled it out. i turn the ignition switch, it starts then stalls. anti theft i guess, cause theres a wire on the cylinder i took out.
new cylinder $200 so i find the whole column for $60

i take out the new cylinder

then decide to just use the whole column cause we kinda messed the old one up.
i put the cylinder back in and get the column most of the way in. still kinda hangin. hook up all wires, start car and it stalls. same as before.

i thought i disconnected the batterybefore we started, but there was still a wire connected to the terminal.???

do i need to reset a ccomputer or something?????????
heeeeeeeeeeeelp

yes there are 5 different resistance values for the theft deterrent system if they do not match you will not start the car. try this attempt to start the car and just leave the key in run position for about 11 minutes theft light should turn off then start the car.

I've had the same problem...the Passlock systems do get annoying :banghead: but know worries the way to bypass it is to turn the key to on position for like 15 mins then off then start... should start right up...there also is a way to disable passlock I will look into it for you if you would like...

no, not every time just once. the same thing you have to do when replacing pcm and instrument cluster

and that would be disconnecting the small connector under the key cylinder with yellow and black wires but you have to do it while the engine is running. Then turn off, pull the key out and within 3 seconds start the engine again. However, theft light will remain on but you should not have problems with theft deterrent again.

But since he already did the relearn procedure the right way I don't see the reason for doing the above mentioned, unless someone wants to mess with ignition switch and do push button start.
