although the OEM orginals are still okay, I'd like to replace them but I'm not sure on which brand to get. I basically want to get ones that will perform best for a smooth handling ride. Price isn't really a factor. I had thought about Monroe Sensa-trac's but I've heard mixed reviews. Any and All help is appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

Absolutely use nothing but OEM struts. There have been numerous reports of Monroes and others failing. If you want a firmer ride get the PHP or special struts. I will be putting only OEM struts on my '99 M.

Thank you for the fast response. Good to know there are still people who take care of their M's.
