Slave Cylinder spring?

I have noticed on both the old and the new slave cylinder that there is a small spring w/ a flat piece on one end. On the old slave, I didn't see where it came from because I found it on the floor. Now I thought that maybe it didn't come from the slave so I thought of just disregarding it until I went to put the new one on and I dropped it onto the pad I was sitting on and I saw the banjo bolt fall off and the bleeder screw fall off (I didn't have them very tight, only a thread or most likely less). Now on the pad I find another one of those little springs....I have no idea where this little guy is suppose to go. I fear if I don't use it at all then I may regret it. I can take a picture for you guys if this spring doesn't ring a bell to anyone. I plan to put this back together tomorrow night so ASAP if possible. Thanks again guys.

Are you talkin about the tiny spring with a small hole in the end of it? Sounds like the restrictor that tries to help slow the release down if you pop the clutch. It suppose to help keep the car shifting smooth and what not. I took mine out and actually got less clutch chatter. This was with an aftermarket clutch though. You dont need it.

How does the spring go back in? What does the plate on the spring need to be touching?

The spring goes infront of the banjo bolt. The plate going in 1st if I remember right. I wouldn't put it back in though.

Ned without that spring you're car is liable to fall apart at any second most valuable component of your car right there ;)

The plate is a restrictor to slow the clutch fluid down if you release the clutch to quickly to keep the car from jerking and engaging smoothly.

I just didn't want to mess it up. I just kept thinking...how much harm can this little spring do? I just didn't know where it came from, I guess that was my biggest concern. Yeah it's not going back in.

haha man i was only kidding i get that same feeling whenever I do something on the car i always end up with these WTF bolts that donm't seem to go back anywhere

I took mine out quite some time ago, way before I got the new tranny. It's always been jerky when shifting and never really though about that spring. I kind of want to put it back in (if I can find it) and see what difference is between the 2. I have bad chatter since I got this new clutch.

Thats odd, mine car drives smoother this it out. I guess it depends on the clutch setup

Its a good bet that its different since the trannies in your cars are different.
