2001 Motor Head needed

My motor is pretty much shot. Mechanic says that there is zero compression or something like that and that there was a major problem with oil getting to the head of the motor and it's ruined. They've had a terrible time finding a good used one, since the new one is crazy expensive. Any recommendations??
