Hello Grinchstokes - welcome to the forum. Just ignore the ignorant first response with the unacceptable signature. Wish he would buy a mazda or something. It generally is quite easy to do what you want. I did it with my '99 Malibu, but procedures are different for each car. Have you tried searching previous threads in this forum? The answer may already be here. Best of luck.

What does your car and a 06 maxx have in common other then a chevy badge? His car is furhter safisticated then mine or yours. I would be willing to be it also has an immobilizer too. What credentials do you have for cars? I have been to tech school and I am a master Parts Advisor for Vw Audi and Porsche as I have also worked for Gm Pontiac Buick Gmc and Saturn... now who are you again?

First off, about me being ignorant... if you had half the technical knowledge I have, your fuzzy little head would explode... Second who cares what my signature says?? Its not yours so shut up and worry about you.

The key you can do yourself. The FOB needs to go to the dealer if it is NEW to your car. Bring all your FOB's with you, they all need to be programed at once.

This procedure is for your existing FOB's.

In order to synchronize the transmitter with the RCDLR, perform the following steps:
1. Stand within 1.5 m (5 ft) from the vehicle.
2. Simultaneously press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter for 7 seconds.
The horn should chirp in order to confirm synchronization.

This is right. Why do you have to bring all keys? Because you are actually programming the vehicle its self to the fob frequency not other way.

Or you can go to an auto locksmith, it's cheaper than dealers.

yes and no. I have alot of customers who come in that have had their remote programmed by a lock smith and then it loses programming. Me personally, I don't understand why. But it happens. Maybe its because they are using aftermarket keys. Some people bring those in, they have the vw badge and everything. They still don't program. Some things you just can't get off ebay. lol.

You people need to control your emotions on this site. Please be contructive and refrain from the bad language. It would make the site more useful.

06 Malibu Maxx REQUIRES dealer programming for that remote type. There is not a customer program method for that Malibu year.
