97 crv ball joints / brakes

Anyone out there know whats up with the ball joints for the crv. I have a 97 crv and have had to replace both front ball joints; left once, right twice. At 200 000 km replacement of the ball joints doesn't seem out of line, but the right ball joint failed after 30 000km. any ideas?
as well, front brakes when wet can sound like a spring being wound up, not the typical griding of abs. any ideas ?
