So i was driving my friend to her grandparents one night a few months ago after that huge ice storm in new england. All over the place they had barriers up for down trees and branchs. i came to some that were to the sides with room for one if not 2 cars to threw them.I figured it was for trees..Then i saw the puddle. It didnt look deep just long and about 3 vehicles in front of me made it threw it so i decided to try.About half was threw my 05 Nissan Altima 2.5s just died.I panniked when the water started comming in from under the doors....we got out and onto the roof and called 911.The water was up over the center console when the firefigters arrived. Now the car is at a garage and its been there for over a month and i keep calling and being told various things like there trying to get it to start ect ect,but never calling me back to tell me anything.Do you think the car is fixable or will they total it cuz ive been with no car for over 2 months and i just cant take it anymore

Have it towed to another garage.
It is apparent they do not want your business :grinno:

Did you contact your insurance? There's a chance they'll total it.

Even if they fix it, I'd be hesitant to trust it, many of the electronics have probably been saturated, and worse that that, it sounds like the key may have still been on when they were saturated. That's awfully hard on electronics.

If it has been sitting for 2 months, with out being properly dried out, then there is a very high chance it is a write off.

Yes i contacted the insurance the day after it happened and they had an adjuster come to the house but he just took pics of the outsite which obviosly showed no damage. They told me to have it towed to this garage for a mechcanical adjustment.Of couse they didnt tell me that till it sat in my yard for a month.Im hoping they call it totalled but it seems the garage doesnt understand how deep this puddle really was.

I think you need to explian to them that the car was totally submerged, and you deffinitly need to talk to the insurance company again.

This simply sounds like a failure to comunicate from all parties.
