Where is the reverse switch??

I'm a newbie (as a Fiero owner and to this forum), so be gentle.
I have a five speed manual '88 GT that I just bought. Any idea where the reverse switch would be?
The car has been sitting for the last three years, and after not too much trouble it fired right up. The only problem I have now is minor, but it is stopping me from registering the car! The reverse lights don't work, and here in Hawaii all cars have to pass a safety inspection before they can be registered.
Both bulbs both look fine, so I am assuming it is somewhere else. Am I right in thinking the turn signal and reverse lights share the same fuse? The turn signals work, so that make me think it's the switch. All other lights are functioning, exccept for the four 'PONTIAC' lights.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Non-working rear lights of any kind on a Fiero are normally bad grounds. Being in Hawaii where you're never very far from salt water, corrosion can be an issue.
Locate the ground wires for the lights, they're the ones that seemingly disapear beneath the enduraflex body panels with the rest of the wiring, but soon terminate to a connection on the steel space frame. This connection is often the problem, clean it up with sandpaper on the frame as well as the terminal, use a fresh new sheetmetal screw, and dab a blob of dielectric grease on the connection.

If both back up lights don't work check to see if the turn signals work...if not check the fuse The back up light switch is located on the transaxel housing instead of the shifter assembly. Check for bad grounds.
