is there a way to use LED bulbs in place of the stock headlight bulbs, without any conversion kits or whatever? for example say i got 9bulb LED clusters, (9 LEDs in one assembly) and resistors could i use them in place of my stock bulbs safely?

Not sure if you would pass your safety inspection but its a cool idea. The newer concept cars and i believe one of the new Catalliac cars are getting LED headlights, but there are like 100 LEDs per headlight. Im sure if you had enough brightness would be equal too or greater than stock headlight bulbs. I dont see why it wouldnt work. they make LED flashlights with anywhere from 1 to like 20 that make plenty of bright light and last like 50,000 hours with only 30% loss of light.
so all i can honestly say is go for it, but dont mod your stock headlights to a point that you cant undo it all.
Any reason why you want to use LEDs?
Have you considered HID lights, not the Xenon lights that "Are as good as HID without having to mod your car at all" which dont work worth ****.

ya the audi R8 and i think the new a6 use leds in the headlights but i dont think as the main lighting. i thought about HID but the price is the reason i wanna try LEDs. LEDs are pretty cheap and depending on how many id need it might be worth it. plus LEDs look cool cuz they are a bunch of little bulbs. i think it would just be a unique look.

I dont think LED's would cast light out far enough to be used as headlights. Plus you would need a TON of them just to equal the light output of the stock 9007 bulb.

why are you looking to LEDs? are your headlights too dim or are you just looking for a cool look for your car?
If the whole headlight idea doesnt/wont work you could always make LED fog/driving lights :grinyes:

oo i thought having a decent amount would be brighter than stock lights. and well my stock ones(new silverstar bulbs, but not the really bright white ones) are pretty dim and dont really project very far no matter how i angle them. not even my brights are any better really. my moms normal G6 lights work way better than either my hi or low beams. im just lookin for an alternative to the HID kit i guess

are your headlights fogged over or scratched a lot?
you may want to check the voltage of the headlights. i had a car that was only getting about 8 volts to the headlights so i monkeyed around with some relays and got the full 12 back. Made a HUGE difference.
be sure not to angle to high figuring they will project further cause then it gives the illusion that they arnt going very far when most of the beam is being shot above the road.
if your car and the G6 have about the same headlight height (within an inch or so) you could pull about 20 feet from a wall on a level surface and put x's with tape where the beams are then park your car there and adjust them to be the same.
