2000 Alero sometimes doesn't move

We have a 2000 Alero, automatic transmission with 148k miles on it.
Several weeks ago my wife took it out for a drive and it barely moved when she put it in gear. The engine would rev up (RPMs would go up) but there was little movement. She turned around, got it back to the house and turned it off and we didn't touch it for awhile. This was the first time it has happened.
This past weekend, I started it up and it ran just fine. I drove it around, even on the highway with no problems. I took it to a local oil shop and got the oil changed, engine flushed, coolant flushed, transmission flushed and a new PCV valve.
I was told it should get a new fuel filter and a fuel system flush and the serpentine belt was starting to crack, but I did not get those done (yet).
The car drove pretty nice after that (my wife, before marriage, only got oil changes, so things were/are pretty sludge).
This morning I started it up to drive into work. When I started it, the Service Vehicle Soon and ABS lights came on and stayed on. I backed out and started driving out of the subdivision. I came to a stop and when I went to go again the car wouldn't move. The RPMs went up, but I didn't go anywhere (if I did it was REALLY slow). I was able to move a little bit in reverse but then that petered out.
I turned off the car, waited a moment, and turned it back on. No service lights this time and I put it into drive and the car took off just fine with no more problems.
Any ideas what this could be? It's only happened twice now.
Also, I've noticed it goes through gas a little faster than it should. My thinking is that might be "cleared up" by a new fuel filter, etc.

Welcome to AF.
What engine? 3.4L V6 or 2.4L L4?
With the SVS and ABS lights on best to get it scanned with an ABS capable scanner. It could be a wheel sensor located in the hub, associated wiring, connectors or the EBTCM module or any ABS issue.

It should be a 3.4L V6
Also:
I got the SVS and ABS lights to pop on today while driving when I went to make a left turn into the store, when I punched the accelerator to quick make the turn from the center turn lane.

As I mentioned earlier you need to get it scanned ith an ABS capable scan tool preferably a GM Tech 2 which is dealership. The ABS issue is causing the PCM module to react maybe thinking there is wheel slippage which will cause a reduction in engine power. It will cut off the fuel injector pulse to the fuel injection system.
