will not shift into drive

87 Cherokee 4*4 3 speed a/t. I replaced brake power booster. Now tranny will not shift into drive. Something i did???

Let me lend a hand here;

The thread starter has the auto overdrive, It was shifting into O/D just fine until he replaced the power brake booster. It still shifts fine but not into O/D, Is this O/D electronic shift or some type manual ?

Could he have knocked something loose or pinched a wire or something when installing the booster ?

There is about 3/16" of up and down movement in the downshift cable housing where it mounts into the intake bracket, Could this be a problem and if so is this cable adjustable ?

The TV is cable is adjustable, and could be the reason for it not to be shifting into O/D. There is button that is used to adjust the cable on top of cable, where it sits on the intake manifold.:smile:
