My fiance and I are in the market for a used one, and about to start looking around this weekend. What are some things I should be aware of when talking to the dealer and looking at the vehicle? For example...common problem areas, parts that break easily or often need to be fixed, something to ask that I wouldn't normally think of? That stuff.
Any help would be great...thank you!

make sure the ball joint recall was done on the one your looking at (02-06).
if you are looking at an 05-06 make sure it doesn't have a rough idle. there is a tsb out for those years only to replace intake valves if a rough idle is present. tsb# 09-007-06
also make sure the dealer hasn't "cleared" any codes recently by verifying with a data reader. we don't want you to get 500 miles down the rode and have a check engine light come on, that the dealer covered up (this goes for any car).
what year are you looking at? mike

Thanks. I've read about the ball joint recall and for most I look at I can put their VIN in online and get that info.
I didn't even think about the codes thing...where do I get a data reader and how much are they?
I'm used to watching the flashing light to count numbers and figure out codes from that lol.
I don't know what year yet...hoping to avoid 2002 from what I've read but it all depends on what we find in our budget.
