Battery

Hey guys, I just had a question quick about batteries. My car has been acting funny the past couple days and I've been getting a little irritated with it trying to figure it out. Well, today it made itself readily evident that the battery took a shit. Fuckity cock shit. It went out in January of 2004, it is now February of 2009 so it made it 5 years and 1 month, which is pretty good I thought! It was a Legend 75 or some shit, my dad got it at Napa I think.

Well, I kinda wanted some opinions quick about what battery to get. If it was for the Talon and/or I had more money I'd get an Interstate without even thinking about it, but money is tight and I need to get the best bang for my buck. Its going in the Cavalier and it needs to be able to start on the -30* days our MN winters have. I also have a pretty mild system it needs to keep up with, I have a 4 channel drawing about 120W RMS and my sub amp drawing about 200W RMS.

So yeah, I don't exactly need a fucking Optima Yellow Top to get the job done, but I don't want to spend money on shit that will break in 18 months, or something that wont crank my shit over when it gets cold, or something that will dim my lights every time the bass hits. I need to do this right the first time too... I don't exactly have a way to get to the store at the moment aside from a bus ticket or my DC's. ;) Thanks all.

i used this on my blazer and it worked good. 2 -10" hooked up to a 700w amp. and neon lights to iluminate the area where your feet go. I had my system running for about 1 hour and the car still started without trouble, now i use optima redtop and looks like the alternator is not keeping up with it because when i turn on my ignition the needle will NEVER be at 12v.

I'll be "that guy"...WalMart. It's like getting a dozen batteries for the price of one.

Well, I talked to my roommates and no one would give me a ride anywhere, but they pointed out that I could get one at BP down the road. Its only like 4 blocks from here so I can walk, though I knew I'd be paying something just for the convenience. "Overpriced" hardly covers it... it was more like ass rape. $100 for that damn battery! I mean it was a nice battery, something like 700 CCA and 800 or 850 CA but DAMN. Just threw it on the credit card and headed home, luckily I picked up a shift at work today to help take off the edge. It sucks, but it would have taken a huge dent out of the day to use public transit to go get a cheaper one.
