1994 dohc over heated now wont start

I have a 1994 mazda with the 1.8 dohc and a auto trany. I was driving it to woek and it got very hot, was still running fine, then it just shut off. I pulled over and had it towed. Now it wont even fire or pop off at all? Anyone have any ideas? possibly fuel? im not to sure at all? any help would be great

How do you describe very hot? Have you checked your coolant level? There has to be a reason for it getting too hot. Is the starter turning the engine over when you attempt to start the car? Any attempt to tell you what happened is a wild guess without more information.

These cars will not restart if they overheat with no coolant present. Check coolant level, and bleed for air pockets. Also check the coolant emp sensor, is it working right?
