A/C Low Port

I have an 03 Explorer with 4.0, I am assuming that the low port for the A/C is directly on the accumulator. That is the only place I see where I can attach the hose from the recharge kit. Also behind the glove box I see the blower motor hosing and on top of that is like a grill, I also assume that would be where the recirc air is drawn from. It would not be a good idea to block this correct?
