2001 Buick Lesabre-power window problems

Does anyone know why a power window would go down fine and then not want to go back up, it will go up an inch at a time--little by little.

We don't know if it is the motor or the regulator, or just the switch. Any insight would be helpful. :)

First thing to try would be too much friction due to rubbing the sealing strips. If you try to assist the window by lifting as it's working to lift the motor, does it seem to operate better because you're overcoming some of the resistance? Clean the strips the window rides in and then apply some silicone.

I don't think that the resistance is caused from friction. It feels like the power runs out and it won't go up anymore. But it goes down just fine.

My 2000 left rear window won't go up all the way or down. I took the trim panel off and a cable is real tight and keeping it from going up. There is a cable covered in a tube on the left side and I think it should be attached some how to the motor. Does a new motor come with this wire cable on both sides? This window probably has only been rolled down 6 or 7 times total. If there is instructions or a diagram somewhere it would be helpful. SEMPER FI
