when it stalls do any lights come on? "Trac Off" by chance? This indicationg a failing crank position sensor.
You could also try unplugging the MAF sensor to see if it will start with it unplugged.

I agree with Tim, your symptoms are indicative of either a bad CKPS or MAF sensor.

I've had this happen a couple of times recently...so far has gotten started each time. This seems to happen at a gas station fill-up (??).
Anyway, what I've been doing is to key up to the 2nd position to allow the fuel pump to run a little bit then it seems to hit on the 2nd try.
I do have plans to replace the crank sensor at my next planned maintenance session.

crazyhorst, your issue almost seems like a fuel delivery problem.

It may very well be...my bro had the fuel pump replaced under duress about 120k but not with a GM-Delco part....it is on the list...I was planning to wait about 2 years before I dug into it again unless forced sooner......

on the list.....
(seems to get longer and longer doesn't it?) Same for me, there are a bunch of things on my list. Just not enough time.
How has your car been since the most recent service?

The car has been running well as far as I can tell. The running average mileage on the DIC was topped out at 25.2mpg max before the service, I saw 26.6mpg on Friday. Not that this is the absolute source of truth on mpg, but at least an apples-to-apples comparison.
My one major driveability issue was the 4th gear TCC locked, ~45mph under 2-3 bars of boost, usually "lugging" uphill where it would stumble badly. This is completely gone.
In other interesting technical news I learned that the GTP has likely never seen a drop of premium fuel other than what GM put in it at the assembly plant. Conversations with my brother indicated he never put anything other than 87 octane pump-regular in it and neither have I. So maybe I'll be a cautionary tale. :D Maybe not...its mostly been a commuter car with a slight bit of rock-n-roll mixed in.
Regarding list of projects...you see I have 4 hi-milers...current limitation is to get a personal shop facility going in my new location. Hopefully planned for this summer.
