I got a couple of questions that I thought you could help me with being in the fleet business. My 06 door locks buzz sometimes mostly in cold weather. It kind of sounds like a relay is sticking inside the doors or something. It will do it if you hit the switch or the remote. Different doors, but all 4 locks have done this at one time or another. When I took it to the dealer last winter they knew exactly what I was talking about but blew it off and just said keep an eye on it. They would not even write me a ticket saying that I had complained. Are you aware of this problem?

Also in the morning (or after it has sat for many hours) when I back up the first couple of times you hit the brakes (in reverse) the rears clunk loudly. It does not do it in forward or any time after the morning reverse clunk. They seem to work fine other than that. Any thoughts?

On your door locks, it could be the actuators starting to hang occasionally. If moisture gets on the actuator rod, it can freeze and cause the rod to just spin insread of moving up or down. We have run into that very rarely. We have opened the door panel and lubricate the rod with good quality lubricant to help the problem.

Ford has some information on the rear pads absorbing moisture and cause the problem you describe. If the brakes need replaced, the updated pads should cure your problem. I will try to remember to check on this for you. Keep reminding me. You may want to shoot me a reminder e-mail. Getting older all the time.
