2004 Crown Vic PI

My domelamp will not come on when any of the doors are open. The lamp works when I turn my instrument panel dimmer all the way to the right past detent. Any help? Is this a quick fix? Expensive? Am I missing something? This just happened today. :frown:

there is a blue plug under the glovebox make sure it is plugged together. it is for the black out option

There is a plug underneath the glove box that is obviously for a computer. Next to that there is a harness of wires that are exposed and among them is a Blue Coupling. I'm assuming that is what you are referring to?

The Blue Coupling is hooked together.

2004 cvpi and new have to be activated at the dealer threw the computer to make the door switches work.

I had "Check Engine Light" issues that were just resolved about 2 weeks ago. The dome light came on before that. However, I'm not sure exactly when the light stopped working but it stopped after the "Check Engine Light" issue was resolved. I wonder if it was reset inadvertantly???? Thanks for the input.
