I was working on my current major problem.. found in another thread...but while i was working i started to smell something sweet i eventually found out it was my exhaust. is it a problem or anything at all if my exhaust smells really sweet, doesn't that mean its running rich?

Coolant usually smells sweet when hot so you should check there. Is the smell coming from the end of the exhaust itself or are you smelling it underneath?

end of the exhaust, and yea we are having problems with the coolant. I think i heard my dad say the tube leading from the resevoir to the radiator is vaccumed closed.. like nothing is there but air being sucks causeing the hose to depress.

There is no direct hose from the radiator to the reservoir. It goes from the radiator to the thermostat housing and then it overflows into reservoir if need be. That system is vacuum-like, but only usually when the car is shut off.

So what exactly is the problem with the coolant and what hose is 'depressing'?

I believe its the upper hose. not sure..and when the car is running theres nothing in it so it depresses slightly.
