I just feel the need to say that I now have my license!!!!! Went 90mph in the 'Bring! I was thrilled! Top down and all. Quarter-mile...didn't check timing and everything htough. Gotta remember that next time. Oh, can't forget the girl in the seat beside me. The great thing about an automatic, allows the right hand to be free for other things. :D
So what's the fastest you've gone? Like, just in plain day or wahtever. Not at an actual race.

OK, now you have your license, it's time NOT to do all the things you actually want to do. Beleive me, I've paid >$4k for 2 car accidents resulting from immaturity and lack of experience. I have now learned. But anyway, congrats! :jumpie:

I hit 180 km/h once, I'll never go that fast for a while. I've never been ticketed and am hoping to keep it that way.

the fastest i've taken my car is 110mph/180kph i've taken it there a bunch of times and of couse that is when the speed limiter kiks in. The car is very stable and i have less than 4500 rpm with plety of power left but the darn thing it cuts my fuel. i'll get around and remove the limiter one of those days.

90 mph in Ford F-350 XL (on International licence)
90 mph in Impreza 2.5 RS (on NO licence :D )

I've ridden a motorcycle to over 108mph registered (didn't look down til I let off the throttle). I took my car to 115mph registered on the turnpike last year. My goal this year is to hit the rev limiter.

You dont have to have a licence to own it. Nor do you have need one to drive it. You just have to have one to take it on public roads and have your insurance honored.

I realise that, the reason it struck me as weird was because in South Africa you have to have proof of licence before you can purchase a vehicle - you don't have a licence, you can't buy a car.
I realise America is different and I am sure you realise it is different in the rest of the world?

I know there's new questions, and the answer has been posted, but JIC (just in case) someone wonders about an explanation:
It's Smith:
Jones is the Brakeman through the whole Detroit Chicago thing, and if Smith beats the fireman in billiards he obviously cannot be the fireman. Therefore Smith is the engineer.
6 out of 240 people solve that problem correctly. That's 2.5% - I feel special. lol...
