Headlight Issue!

I'm no car enthusiast yet I feel that I can work my way around issues with enough instruction, but I'm having serious issues with my driver's side low beam. Rather than run into my local Honda dealership and pay a ridiculous labor cost, I thought I could fix the issue myself cheaply and quickly. A burnt out headlight bulb. Seems simple enough.
My driver's side low beam went out a couple days ago. I bought a replacement bulb from Walmart and installed it this morning. I turned the lights on and nothing. My high beams and turn signals are still functioning, but even with the replacement low beam bulb, no low beam light. So I took that bulb back to Walmart, thinking I'd bought a faulty bulb, and got a replacement. I used clean, latex gloves, as I had the first time, during my replacement, and I made sure, with operation like skill, that no part of the bulb touched anything on it's way into the fixture. And STILL it did not work.
I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

You could try gently moving the problem sides connector/socket while the headlights are on and see if the bulb flickers or trys to work (poor connection)

I'm assuming the other low beam is o.k. ?

I tried doing just as you suggested a couple days ago when I first had issue, and it didn't seem to help. I also checked the fuses and they seem to be in working order. I'm at a loss. And yes, the other low beam is working fine.
Ironically, the thing that's most frustrating is, this happened a few months ago with my passenger side low beam. I bought a bulb, installed it myself, and it didn't work, so I ended up at my Honda dealership not knowing what was wrong. They took my car, installed their own bulb and it worked just fine, and I was stuck with a 40+ dollar bill, most of which was labor cost. The Honda rep. told me that I had mishandled the original replacement bulb by touching it, and the bulb overheated and blew, and they even showed me a burnt spot on the bulb that was supposed to be indicative of my wrong doing. Thing is, the bulb never produced light for one second, as I checked it after installing, and yet somehow it was operational and hot enough to leave a burn mark on the glass and then blow?
Perhaps I'm too cynical, but I've had my fair share of issues with my Honda dealer, and I just feel that I'm being taken for a ride every time I go in to get work done.

Do you have a multi-meter available or a 12 Volt test probe ?? In most cases the bulb is supplied Voltage at the common terminal and the ground for either high or low beam is provided through the headlight switch.

If the high beam is working then Voltage is present, If you have Voltage present at the low beam terminal then the low beam filament is o.k. and you have an open between the low beam terminal and its ground path through the headlight switch.
