OK guys, my Rodeo will idle for a short while then shut off. While in gear and going down the road, no problems; however, it has died on a couple of occasions while coming to a stop. Went to AutoZone to get the CEL read and got codes 1299, 1125, and 1295. All dealing with electronic throttle control. Is this replaceable part? I read in a previous post of another owner having similar problems but getting different codes. Suggestions to him were a manifold gasket leak. As always, suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Guess it would help if I told you what I have. I have a 2000 model with the 3.2L. Thanks for the reply sids. I am thinking that it is my throttle position sensor. Mine doesn't rev as high as yours does and mine will idle for a short while. Doesn't change the way it runs in gear. I will look into the ECM.

To update, it is now starting to die while in gear. Will idle rough at a stop light for a short while then die. Restart it and the CEL will blink when the tach reaches 2000 rpm. Shut it down and let it sit and then the CEL shuts off.

Anytime you have idle problems, I'd recommend cleaning the throttle body.

Just got the Rodeo back and had to replace the whole throttle body. Ouch!!!!!! Labor wasn't the bad part. The price for the part itself cost a small child and my left arm. Finally back to running right.
