secondary air intake malfunction

I have a 2004 trailblzer. It tends to stall, and rpm's sometimes get real low about to stall, then idles pretty high. error code is p0410 secondary air intake malfunction. Any idea of possible reasons for this, or corrctions?
I have read some older discussions but none mentioned stalling.

Mine did not stall but it was the valve on the manifold. My 2004 TB had 70K miles at the time.

The code may not be related to your problem. Clean the the throttle body, common issue with these engines. The 41o is a bad solenoid/check valve or pump.

I ran a number of elimination tests today. Pump works, hoses are clear, etc.
I now am beginning to think that the code is coincidental to a deeper issue. The stalling only occured at random times so I also ran through a number of different operational tests. I have concluded that the stalling occurs due to a power draw from the defroster!

Any ideas??

Do what I said and see what happens.

Just wanted to add, i have been batteling the same problem with my 05 TB, the secondary air injection system is the fault code, i'm sure the same code though . I have changed out pump, o2 sensor, verified hoses and clamps, but still have water in the lines occasionally. I have not changed the valve yet by the intake, do you think this is also my case? Sometimes in the morning there is a squeal coming from the engine that last about ten minutes and then its done, you won't hear the rest of the day.
Thanks

I have been hesitant to change the valve because it is a dealer only part, over $100! I haven't changed anything else. My pump runs after the car sits for a while, runs about 20 seconds or so. I do have a problem with the TB stalling if I run the a/c or defrost on idle, not sure if this is related but started happening about the same time as SES light. Oh, my air pump only runs if the climate control fan is off at start-up!

Yeah i was hesitant to on changing the valve, simply for the same reason, cost. Since i already spent over 300 for the pump and didn't fix the problem after my chevy dealer told me it was. I took off the valve from the intake and turned it on with a snap on test set and it was blowing air, so i would guess it's working? I"m not really for sure on a could way to test, as far as open or closes. Any other suggestions would be helpful. Somehow I'm getting water in the lines after the pump and before the vlave, almost ready to trade it in.....
Thanks

just replace the solonoid as thats most likely the problem as for the water that is normal dont worry about it, it is the same moisture that builds up from heat in the exaust and since it puts fresh air into the exaust its going to have a moisture build up, its a emmisions device and some times causes bad gas millage but never seen one cause a stalling problem but i suppose if solonoid is stuck shut it may..

I know what the pump looks like but does anyone have a link to pictures or a description of the solenoid/valves? I have an 02 s10 and the P0410 code and I can hear my on and then kick off after about 45 seconds so i'm thinking its not the pump...

Different truck, this is the wrong forum, but the solenoid/check valve is in the line to the manifold.
