How difficult is an mpfi swap ?

How difficult is an mpfi swap for ordinary people without big tech knowledge in mecanic but with an small base ? How long to do the swap for someone who never made swap ?

the difficult part for you would be the wiring, but unless you get hooked up with the intake, and all the parts to do the swap with, its not worth the money, most of the time you can buy the whole engine for the price of the intake. also if you have an std be careful because i know for a fact that the heads from a std and a dx are different. you might have to get a MPFI intake off of a HF to do it right. but remember this is coming from somebody that has never done the swap, but i did rebuild my engine, so i have some knowledge.

this might sound really dumb, but my civic has a carburettor, can you swap mpfi into that?

and converted mine when I went with the ZC sohc.


honestly, Its an easy swap, but sometimes hard getting the parts for the swap.


you need the following parts:

88-91 intake manifold complete with throttle body & injectors
88-91 distributor can be crx hf/si or civic si
88-91 injector resistor box w/ wiring (makes it easier to graft)
88-91 pm6 ecu Si or use 88-89 integra pg7 or 90-91 integra pr4 works
88-95 intake manifold gasket (canadian tire)

you can also use 92-95 intake manifold.....currently on my setup..

i think it might be possible but its prolly difficult too but i think ne things possible

I have a D15b7 in my garage out of my 93 Del Sol. I will sell the intake + fuel rail and injector. Let me know if anyone want anything off of the motor. It's compete minus a alternator.

carburator to mpfi should be the same as dx to si, except you will need air cleaner back to intake manifold, and i suggest a whole new wire harness.

you would also need a efi fuel pump if im not mistaken

88 crx si distro
88 crx si ecu (pm6)
88 Crx Si wiring harness (most of it) and resistor box all for sale

yes the fuel pump is a must.
