1997 GTP
Replacing the oil in supercharger, called local chevy house and they don't carry it. They told me to call the pontiac dealer, talked to the parts guy at pontiac dealer and he told me to run mobile one 30wt in supercharger.
I found some SC oil at a dealer in another town. Picked it up. Will use it.
I just wanted to ask if the pontiac parts guy knew what he was talking about?

Stick with the GM supercharger oil, 12345982 and I would not use the Mobil. I've never heard of using anything else and it deviates from GM's recommendation.
Also try ZZP.

BNaylor,
ZZP is about 3 dollars a bottle cheaper than the dealer.
Thanks for the info.

Right...use the GM supercharger oil.
For want of $20 (guessing $5 for a quart of Mobil1 and $25 for 2 bottles of GM S/C oil @ dealer retail) you would be undertaking your own personal validation project which could cover the realm of saving $20 or cost you a long block replacement ($thousands$) if the supercharger grenades and trashes the base engine.
