replacing engine

I have a 1991 MR2 and need to replace the engine. I am considering either a 2.0 or 2.2 L normally aspirated engine but am concerned about how the computer will function if I go with the 2.0.
Does anyone have opinions about the advantage vs disadvantage or these motors?

go for the turbocharge...get the motor with the ecu

It would help if you told us what engine you currently have. The one you are replacing.
If you currently have the 5S-FE (2.2 liter), and you want to replace it with the 2.0 Liter 3S-GTE, you cannot use the 5S computer. You have to get a 3S computer and engine wiring harness. You will also need to change the transaxle, the axles, the front and probably rear mount, and some other items, like the hubs. this is known as a complete turbo swap.
If you have a 2.2L, and you want to do it in the simplest, cheapest way, then just get another 2.2L 5S-FE
