There are a bunch of license plate lights listed on ebay. Take a look and see if one will work for you. Also, check the new price and see if you can get the part number. I recently replaced a power mirror on my 2500 by punching in the part number on the internet. I found a bunch of folks who had the original oem mirror for 100 to 120 less than the dealership. I wound up buying it from the dealer when I explained to the parts manager that I didn't mind paying a little more to buy locally, but that kind of extra markup was just silly. He gave me about 80 bucks off his original price, and I had the mirror on my truck the same day.
I own a communications contracting company, and I have bought seven trucks from them so that might have had something to do with him coming off the price too.
Still a license plate light for a 2005 should still be readily available. (by law)

whenever you need something of this small quantiy and not of a normal part failure ...the scrap yard is best way to go...your part was from a bumper that was most likely smashed up...10.oo sounds good...
