humming noise

I what sounds like a humming noise coming from the right front wheel. This sounds changes with speed. I looked at the axle when I got home and there seems to be grease or oil that is coming from the seal near the transmission. So does this eliminate the hub/bearing, what needs to be changed? I am going to get a better look in the morning on a lift.

I would definitely suspect the outboard/hub bearing before the inner drive-axle end.
My GTP weeps some fluid from that area too...right now, it leaves no spots on the ground and hence I can pour fluid in faster than it pours out.
You mentioned grease...while you're under there it might be a good idea to slowly rotate the drive axle in neutral (carefully, jacked, park brake set and rear wheels blocked) to inspect the integrity of the CV boots....those are supposed to be filled with grease and a cut thru the boot will sling/fling grease due to the centrifugal effect of the rotating shaft.

Got it on the lift this morning, looks like the grease/oil is coming from the sending unit near the oil filter. Noise is bearing/hub related. The tech also suspected the power steering pump for leak, but looks more like the sending unit. trying to price one online.
