Alex, you money arrived safely this morning!

So all you need to do is decide what wheels you want and I can post them off!
May I suggest the OZ super Turismo off the Tamiya Lancer? Should look good!

ales
12-11-2001, 01:08 PM
Any pics of what you're talking about?

Oh, you will include that clear super dooper glue, right? ;) And a rear seat (or whatever it was).

And the last thing: got a three-point(?) racing steering wheel (or a civilian steering wheel) lying around that you're willing to part with?

Guiddy
12-11-2001, 07:05 PM
The glue will hold things up, as I would need to order it, and spend a minimum of £15 mail order at the company! Is that OK or shall I just send what I have?

I can do a steering wheel, and rear seat, no problems. I really meant I will send the wheels to make up the £30, as opposed to the glue too!
You will bleed me dry!:D The wheels would look exactly like Warren's real Primera!

Let me know what you want to do!

OK, It will be on it's way tomorrow! Email me your address again.
I'll send you the wheels from the EVO IV too. They are small, but I will never use them, so you may as well have them!

I am not sending anyone any nice ones now after I got Jealous of Warren's WRX and what he did with my wheels!:p

\wiping off an odd tear/ Yes, Daniel-sensei, I'll do my best to make you proud!

I won't be starting with the models just jet - I have a Sierra to finish, and then I'll be practicing making cars with engines on 300ZX.

Now did you see my question about Rubbing compound and Kristal Klear? How much do they cost in UK and what's your estimation for shipping costs? Oh, and Tamiya Wax as well, if there is any available...

Guiddy
12-20-2001, 06:06 AM
I can't beleive you are doing that Sierra! They go for big money here, like £25!

Don't cock that one up either! Looking forward to seeing it done!

ales

You can get that stuff anywhere!

As for the Krystal Klear and Microsol, I'll work on that one!

ales
12-20-2001, 06:33 PM
Hmm, will any rubbing compound work? I feel stupid (well, I am!). OK, I will look into it tomorrow. Although I was thinking that since Tamiya was so good...

primera man
12-21-2001, 06:53 PM
I'm not sure what other compounds would be like, but i'd say they may be a bit to corse for a model.
See if you can get the tamiya stuff just in case or maybe try some on another painted bit

ales
12-25-2001, 04:58 AM
Damn, they're asking a lot of money for that EvoII !!!
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1679883188

and if anyone wants the Sierra, here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1680868954) it is. Not that expensive...

It's not what they ask, it's what they get!

you may have a good substitute for rubbing compound in the bathroom
try regular toothpaste (not the gel type) it is an abrasive and works pretty good for smoothing out a paint job, just keep the rag wet and rub away.
Mike

ales
12-25-2001, 09:43 AM
Thanks, Mike, I'll give it a try. :)

Edit: Mike, could you perhaps tell me how exactly to apply toothpaste to the model? Put it (paste) on a damp cloth and rub on a wet car?

Guiddy
12-25-2001, 10:15 AM
Rag wet
Model dry
Toothpaste onto rag!
Keep another rag near by to wipe away the paste and check the shine!

modelfan1
12-25-2001, 02:59 PM
yeah ,what Guiddy said

JE123
12-25-2001, 05:11 PM
Won't the model smell like toothpaste afterwards?

modelfan1
12-25-2001, 05:48 PM
If you use a good mouthwash you won't smell the toothpaste. LOL

JE123
12-25-2001, 06:04 PM
Will Listerine work? Do you rub the listerine on the model with an old T-shirt? It seems to me that the smell would be even worse.

j/k:D :D :D :D

modelfan1
12-25-2001, 06:24 PM
If the "old"T shirt were clean it would'nt smell so bad

JE123
