Some of you probably know, I'm using Testor clear coat with no problem. Some of you wouldn't beleive it (look m web site in my sing)
Today I go to the Wallmart to get an other clear spraycan.. damn, they are out of stock :( So I made some more store and finally got one spraycan. Back to home, I notice that the testor number on the can isn't the same.. I was using clear coat #1814 with great result, and the can I just got is #1261. They got the same name but not the same number..
So I tryed the new can (#1261) on a test kit (Porsche boxter that the paint job is bad) and WOW ! what a peice of junk ! the clear got bubble, yellowish (in less than 20 minutes !!!) and even have some white shade in it....
So, if you want to try, get #1814 and test it on a scrap peice and see by yourself, for 2$ it's a great clear coat... but other numbers look to be total junk.

So through the fault of Testors not labeling their sprays clearly, you guys have been using incompatible clear coats? Someone should write them a letter!:D

Here in the states these cans are clearly labeled. One has a purple stripe and the other an orange. I can tell you it makes a big difference if you put the wrong top coat on! Lacquer over lacquer ONLY----enamel can go over other paint as well as lacquer.

here in Canada, both have the same name, but one is brown/gold and the enamel is gray/blue
Still, beside the color, it's the same name... anyway.. the only good thing I saw from #1261 is that he cover clear part without fog.. but still it look shit on paint  :D
