My '93 Altima had been sitting for about 8 months as a spare. Now when I try to start it, it wont. It turns over but wont fire up. I pulled the plug wire that goes to the distributor to the coil to test the coil. One end plugged into the coil and other end open. I placed a screwdriver at the open end and had someone turn the engine to see if it sparks. No spark while the engine is turning but as soon as you stop turning the engine it lets out one spark and thats it. Is this a bad coil???

Not necessarily. You will need to determine whether or not you have a trigger to the coil and voltage. If neither of those are present, you need to remedy that before condemning the coil. If you have voltage but no trigger, you're probably looking at a crank or camshaft position sensor. Which engine does your Altima have? Have you searched the Altima forum for similar issues?
