I have a 2000 Explorer, my front seat is broken (not to do with the recall). I am wondering if I can exchange it with a 1991 Explorer seat I found in a salvage yard. The Haynes manual says that the removal and instalation on these two years is differant. Wondering if the 91 will still fit?

These are going to be so far from fitting it's not even funny. The 00 and 91 are completely different vehicles, about all that would transfer over are the tire valve stem caps. Also, your car's electronics will reject it like a bad liver. Now, that being said, if you don't mind driving around with lights on and accessories that don't work, and you happen to be handy with a torch and welder, go for it.

I have a question about your seat. what exactly is broken? is the seat back falling down or is it something else? Most of the time its the recall. the bolt that keeps the seat back upright snaps in half. if its not the seat back I would suggest you talk to a body shop or the salvage yard, they usually have crash books that will give you all the years of what seat will work.
