91 RS question starts runs then dies

I just got thie 91 RS 305 TBI.It will start run for a while then it will idle down.But right after it idles down it will die.If I restart it it will idle high then low a couple times then die.Is this the Engine control temp sensor?thanks in advance.

So I got it to idle I think maybe the timing might be off now.What is the timing suppose to be set at?If I shut it off and try to restart it cranks awhile before it fires.

I set the timing it was way advanced.But I am still having the same problem.I replaced the idle air control valve no luck.I bought a map sensor hooked it up no luck so I am taking it back.I did get it running a idleing the other day and drove it.I was real disappointed in the lack of power.I know it's just a 305 but this was bad.It hesitates a little ,so could the TPS cause this?.Also once it does get warmed up it will set and idle just fine.Im stumped.I am going to try the fuel filter next.Any suggestions would be appreciated.thanks.Oh yea I did find a burnt plug wire also no change though.

NO no check engine light.I am going to check the TPS tonight and see what the readings are on it.

When you set the timing did you disconnect the single tan wire?

Yea I unplugged the wire.They had the timing way advanced on it.

Make sure your Fuel Pump Pulsator is OK. If it is not you will get low fuel pressure. It only about $25 to replace.
