Like the title says. What brought you to A/F?
For me:
I was involved in a car club called Skylines Downunder. Our Club's forums server went down and didn't due to certain circumstances wasn't going to be back up in a timely fashion. Igor welcomed us with open arms per-say, and the club began posting here in the Skyline Forums. Many of us stayed after the Club's server issues were sorted out.

I came across a link to AF that someone had posted in another forum.
I stayed here because it's a busy, interesting site, with broad interests; and generally the members are more helpful, polite and do not flame/insult others, especially on technical issues. That make it a pleasant alternative to many other sites.

A computer.
But seriously, I was doing a Google search on an issue I was having with one of my vehicles at the time. I clicked on one of the results and was brought here. I was surprised to see I wasn't the only one that was having these issues. Along with the thread was a fix to the issue which solved the problem.
From that point on I stayed.

I was actually directed here by a guy I met on AIM. I had just bought my first car and wanted to learn more about it. He was a VDub guy, but had seen/heard of it here and sent me the link. Originally I only posted in the forum for my car, but one day got brave and started searching around the other forums. So pretty much I've wasted the last 8 years of my life sitting in front of a blue and white screen.

In keeping with the moderator-only replies, my cousin told me about it one day (he is the member -Josh-) at work and I just kinda sat down and got into it.
A very profound moment.

I ahve thought much the same thing, too. I could have picked up my master's degree in the time I've spent here :frown:

One of the moderators (possibly creators) of the site sent me an invite way back in 2000. Damn I been a memeber for almost 10 years!? I disapperared for a number of year only to re-emerge in 2006. Now I am back again. My space-time travel machine is still not working well. lol
Anyways, I came here because the site look good, was easy to navigate, and at the time was more pro-Nissan than many others. Man it has come a long way!

Same as 97Venturowner. Did a google search and found this site. It was very informative, the members didn't burn eachother for some of the silly questions asked and it seemed like a very inviting site. I say 'the only dumb question is the one not asked.' I sometimes regret that saying, but it all works out in the end.

I found it looking for a problem that was very very obvious, for some stupid reason, just didn't want to spend the 15 or 20 bucks to fix it, so I came on posted, and ended up spending 50 bucks to fix and improved the situation. I liked the larger community, then where I was posting and still do. Right now I check in here, weekly. I also frequent the above mentioned site daily, as I've become friends with a lot of the members over the years. I also frequent, a fire buff site("the rant") that's local.

Wow way to bring back memories..
Lets see, already a mod in a few other forums and started to upload my step by step guides for the Hyundai Santa Fe, when I decided to do a search for any forum for the Santa Fe and finally came across AF. Stayed around put my two cents in every topic I can. One day I asked to be a mod and Igor made me one. (One of the few times that has happened). Eventually promoted to admin and have bugged the mods and members ever since. :evillol:
