Timing belt

Where do I go to find out about changing the timing belt in a 96 ford ranger xlt 2.3,.. or some good advice on changing it? How long should it take? ect...

Get yourself a manual by Haynes or Chilton from Pep Boys or any other auto parts store. It'll give you an idea what it will take to do the job. For sure you are going to have to remove the fan and fan clutch, serpentine belt, upper rad hose, etc. It should not be too hard.

I checked my 91-99 Chilton Manual. Page 3-41 clearly describes the procedure to replace the timing belt. The V6s have chain belts.

I assume this is a 2.5L engine.

Ford recommends 120,000 miles, but I would go ahead and start since you have 113K miles.
