:crying: Hey guys
This one stumps me. I have an 87 rx7 and when I bring it all the way up to temperature.
I turn the motor off it will immediately start back up. When it sits for a couple of hours
It will not start until it is completely cool
Fuel pressure has been tested /volume/ pressure
It is getting spark during the period that it does not start
The spark plugs are not wet as though it is flooded
Any suggestions

How is the fuel pressure/volume during no start ?
Is it a strong spark, bluish white, or a weak spark, orangish, during no start ?
Just some thoughts

Here are the fuel pressure readings with the fuel pump connector jumpered:
1986-1989 ( Except Turbo) 64-85.3 psi
1986-1989 w/Turbo 49.8-71.1
To verify fuel pressure is to low to fire injector you could spray starting fluid into the air intake during no start.

Hmmm, do you have a stand alone or stock Ecu?

You need to get it compression tested as not starting when its up to temp indicates low compression.

The series 4 and 5 rx7s are notorious for this problem and I encountered it with my series 4. The problem is they have a cold start injector and a seperate hot start injector. The later will most likely need replacing or cleaning as they tend to flood the motor (like a carby engine flooding) the factory ecu injects too much on warm start flooding engine. Is your rx auto or manual because autos suffer from this allot more. Mine had problems with the shifter not selecting park or neutral so wouldnt start. This coupled with above problem is very fustrating. I solved it by converting to manual and having hot start injector removed by profesdional rotary mechanic. Good luck with getting it fixed I know how annoying it can be waiting for it to cool down especially when you sitting at a gas station!
