Ignition switch problem???

i have a 1994 pontiac grand prix 3.1 and it wont start sometimes..it has 203k. i just put a new starter in it and had the alt and batt tested all good. but sometimes when i turn it off and go to start it it wont do anything no click no nothing, but i have full power lights, radio, ect. it starts when it wants to.

attempt to start it in nuetral next time it doesnt start. If it starts, then you might need to adjust or replace the PRNDL switch. Do your backup lights come on when your in reverse?

no it doesnt start in neutral either.. and i havent checked on the reverse lights.

Ok, then your ignition switch is probably the next logical step.

Not sure I would jump right into replacement of the ignition switch without a few tests.
Have you checked for b+ on the starter S terminal while an assistant attempts to start the car?

To start do you have any GM wiring diagrams of your specific year and model GP?

See if when you turn the key to the start position you have voltage at the yellow wire on the ignition switch. The red wire is the main hot to the switch.

steering column. But you might be able to access a big electrical cluster plug in the drivers side kick panel for test purposes.

yea one end of it is under the dash.. but i dont know how to go about testing
