The Odometer Does Not Function Period. It Is A Mechanical Odometer And Trip Odometer. Therefore It Does Not Rotate/change Which Indicates Something Has Broken

your vehicle I believe is one of those odd ball types...digital speedo with a mechanical odometer...this could be from the transmission to the odometer gear that rotates the cable as the area that needs inspection...did you inspect anything?

you then will have to remove the front panel of the dash panel and get access to the odometer where the cable interfaces with the odometer gear ..this gear may be broken or the retaining clip fell off....holding the odometer numbers off the proper position,,,,

report what you found...

is there an odometer gear or anthing on the transmission that would cause this?

BTW be careful with the instrument cluster once you remove the front plastic thing because the needles sometimes tend to be really delicate and can break easily.

Maybe its rusted stuck?? I'm just taking a guess there. Only reason i say this is because on my caprice i would keep hearing this ticking noise and i found out it was my odometer every time it changed because it was rusty. All i had to do was spray some WD-40 up between the trip odometer button. Take caution if you do this because it could spray inside the cluster and you'll end up having to take the clear plastic thing off to clean the grease off.
