Well, snow may not be a big deal to you northerners since you see it everyday, but this is probably the 3rd time I have seen snow in my life, so it was cool.
Anyways I woke up today and walked outside, and took a few pictures of what I saw. The photos may not be great, as they arent filled with any beautiful scenery....because, well....its just my back yard.

I had quite a bit of fun in the snow though, although not pictured.
I went to one of my buddy's houses and everyone was outside with thier ATVs acting a fool. All I had was my civic, so I had to show them what the deal was. So I ended up doin work with the honda in an open grass lot beside my friends house.

After that I went to another friends house and we found his stock hood that came off his 01 dodge dakota. We then tied it to a rope and hooked the other end to the Vinson 500, and took turns sledding. That was super fun, though I'm suprised noone got hurt.

All in all, I had fun in the snow, but I wont miss it when its gone. Like 2 snow days out of the year would be pimp. Anymore than that, ...I couldnt take.

Snow doesn't bother me at all, sometimes I wish we would get more. What I do hate, is when it's not snowy and -30 without windchill like last week. There were 2 days here where we did get any more snow that we have now, and it was a HIGH of -19 during the day, try that on for size.

Think we can get a sun day? Where its like plus i dunno anything that would be nice.

No but seriously we got snowbanks on the side of my driveways way taller than my head. But i guess its all relative.

Lake Michigan sucks also. Usually it goes South to Indiana but when it comes West it's big.

I lol'ed at the snow also. When I got my car running this weekend I finally had to brush it off. Had 1.5ft of snow on it, and a snow drift off the roof to about ~2.5ft. When they plowed the streets the corners are just huge banks. There's a snow bank in my work parking lot that I climbed yesterday and it's probably a good 7ft tall.

I also think it's kinda funny (not like making fun, funny) that people have never seen snow or they can count it how many times they've seen snow. Something as common as snow is non-existent in so many other places.

Im not going to lie. I get pretty excited when we get snow here. Mostly because EVERYTHING shuts down when we get any amount of snow here. We only saw about 1/4inch here but it was enough to get school delayed 2 hours.

According to map quest, you live about 150 miles away from me.
As far as tuning goes....I have some experience with SAFC's. Thats about it.
Also done some diagnostic port style tuning via a Diablo Predator, on a buddy's 12 sec GTO.

SAFC works for the 420a in LEANING it out. It CAN NOT add fuel though. So you can use larger injectors and a high FMU/SFMU to basically start off with more fuel, then use the SAFC to lean it all out.

You can use eManage and MegaSquirt.

tune with the portfueler how?? do you mean add injectors right on up to the amount i want to be at?

ok ill check out the safc ive been meaning to buy one, guess ill buy one when it comes time for tuning, i was just unclear as to the compatibility, thanks for clearing that up

I'm not familiar with portfueler but I think everything is all right there for that.

If you want a SAFC I should have mine for sale once it starts getting a little warmer outside.

It takes like 3 minutes to remove safc. Just do it now suck it uP :P

hmm...

more than likely ill get it that way i want it as far as my project wishlist, then take it to a tuner and tell them to do hat needs to be done to get it tuned right...

im a little iffy about messing with fuel and ignition and all that...not very experienced =(

but my fuel controller did come with a disc that sais split second prgramming, but i guess thats just for the fuel...

anyways, thanks!

Ya but when it's in my dash, it's a little harder. Plus then I have nothing to tune mine with in the meantime until MS gets hooked up... which will take longer.

Ya that's the 1st one. The newer one has some other features but I don't know what the difference is. Probably cna't even use half the features on 2 anyway. All I needed was some way to lean out the car... and that's all the SAFC does on the 420a.

I believe the SAFC has 5 rpms points to tune with per high/low throttle. So the SAFC has a total of 10 rpm points and the SAFC2 has 7 per high/low so you have a total of 14 points.

I was always under the impression that you could connect a laptop to the portfueler and tune the fuel maps this way? Is that not the case?

Not sure what you're talking about...
I have my SAFC set up 1, 2, 3, 4, 4.5, 5, 6, 7... for both low and high, and I think I have a couple more spaces too. So probably 10rpm points for each high and low.

Ok I wasnt exactly correct but I had the right idea. The SAFC1 has 8 points of adjustment and the SAFC2 has 12 point. The SAFC2 also has 2 different maps that can be tuned. So you can have a 93oct map and a 110oct map for the track or something like that.
