1996 Dodge Caravan

My father has a 96 caravan and his van has recently been giving him problems lately. The engine light is on and i'm trying to help him diagnose the problem. I havent been over yet to try the on off three times trick and get the code, but I will do so tonight. But, once I get the code, how do I know what it corresponds to? I have no idea where to reference a code to, besides here. But is there a list of codes somewhere that i'm not seeing?
