does anybody know how to open the rear talilght housings to replace the bulbs? it's a 2006 malibu

soooo, nobody knows how to change tailight bulbs in a 2006 malibu?

You need to open the trunk to gain access to the carpeting material, peel it back and you'll see two plastic wing nuts retaining the taillight housing (left or right side are the same) to the body.
Remove the wing nuts by uncrewing them be hand. Then on the outside of the taillight housing, remove the phillips screw(s) holding the assembly. Screw(s) located between the trunk seal and the inside trim of the taillight.
Pull the housing out to gain access to the bulbs. Twist the bulb socket to break it free and replace the bulb. Then install in reverse of removal.
