Hello, I was taking the alternator bracket off the bottom bottom manifold when i dropped the nut in it. Is there a way to get it with out taking the bottom manifold off? I was putting the damn thing together after a head job and left the stud and bolts on top. When i was going to take the nut off of the stud to put the alternator bracket on it fell in. Please tell me it can be retrieved with out taking the lower intake manifold off again.:banghead:

Do you have a flexable magnet ? And hope the valve is closed or it just may have ended up in the cyclinder.
Best of luck.

Best of luck. Thanks for replying. Yes I have a flexible magnet. If the valve is open and it goes down to the cylinder how far do i need to go back down?

If it is a fairly large nut, ALL THE WAY, to the cyclinder. If not it can cause damage to your piston, valves, & push rods.
If it is in the cyclinder you may get lucky by removing the spark plug and go fishing.
Again Good Luck !

Well, I took the lower intake off and there it was. It was in the cylinder head on top of the valve, boy was I lucky. I was already thinking worst scenario, having to take off the head(s). The funny thing is that I dropped the nut in the back left corner of the intake and I found it in the front cylinder head.

Wow! Good job. That could have done a LOT of damage had you started it up.
