Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacement

I need to replace mine (leakage, hard start, rich fuel c/e light.
I can do it myself, but I would feel more comfortable if someone can help me with a few things.
1) disconnect battery cable: I know I need the code to reactivate the anti theft device on my radio. How?
2) relief fuel pressure: HOW??
3) actual installation:
do I remove the tightening screw first? Do I install it last? Or disconnect the fuel line first and reconnect that one last. The latter makes more sense but I'm not sure.
Also, any type of lube on the actual orings?
Well, if anyone has any input would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
M-
